This custom home project required careful planning from the very beginning. The homeowners wanted a design that would maximize natural light throughout the home, particularly in key living areas such as the great room, ensuite bathroom, and covered outdoor spaces.

With 22-foot ceilings in the great room and multiple architectural rooflines, the skylight design needed to be carefully integrated into the roof structure to ensure both performance and visual impact. The project also included additional challenges such as a walkout balcony and several complex roof intersections, which required precise planning during the design phase.

From the early stages of the project, Aucoin Roofing worked alongside the build team to help design a roofing and skylight layout that would bring the homeowner’s vision to life.

Aucoin Roofing was involved from design through installation, helping create a skylight plan that would deliver both functionality and stunning natural light throughout the home.

The finished design includes 10 Velux skylights installed throughout the property, featuring a mix of skylight styles to suit different areas of the home. In the ensuite shower, a solar-powered venting skylight was installed to improve ventilation while bringing natural daylight into the space.

The covered porch was designed with additional skylights to maintain brightness even in shaded outdoor areas. Inside the home, the soaring great room ceilings feature multiple skylight combination banks, along with solar-powered venting skylights and solar-powered blinds, creating a bright and comfortable living space while maintaining energy efficiency and control over sunlight.
